Here For Eagle Mountain
About Me:
I have been married for 18 years and have 6 children with one in Heaven. I have lived in Utah County all my life. I had the opportunity to leave Utah many times, but I love Utah. I love the beauty here. It is home. Though I wouldn’t mind a beach, an ocean full of sea creatures to explore, and never-ending heat and sun. This is where I belong. This is where I want to be. I want to work to improve life and living for my family and the people around me.
I am very determined and work hard. I always wanted to be a mom, but I also wanted to be something more, to do more with my life. My second child, William, was born with Spina Bifida and mild cerebral palsy. Life became more complicated. I wanted to teach my children to be hard workers and to fight through the harsh realities and unfairness of life (I believe we are doing that). my son is learning to become independent and prepare for his future, though it will look different than others.
At 11 years old my oldest daughter died by suicide. My life has changed so quickly and drastically. I have learned that I don’t want to be bitter, I want to be better. I decided I wanted to live more fiercely, with more purpose. I want to help other families in this shattered place. I want to help other teenagers and kids to realize their importance in life, now and in the future. I don’t want any more parents to feel the ache and pain that comes with that loss!!!
I have helped to gather moms that have lost children into a group where they are free to grieve and speak about their sorrows, struggles, and pain. We gather often and have become close.
I am a chef, specializing in pâtisserie. I am an owner of a software/data analytics firm with global clients and also an animal boarding facility close by in Cedar Fort. This works well because we own a lot of fun animals.
I have a passion for basketball and play recreationally several times a week with a group of amazing women.
I have been serving as a county and state delegate for the republican party for 5 years and counting. I love getting to know and studying candidates and elected officials all over the state of Utah.
I have a desire to create a community where kids and teenagers can have a strong sense of belonging. With suicide rates going up, I want to help kids develop confidence in themselves and their futures. I want them to see beyond today and to see what they can do and create.
